Monster Mask

Monster mask is a series that looks at the historical design principal of Nigerian mask design. Using the shape, line work, pattern and symmetry commonly found in Nigerian and West African mask making I decided to hybridise those design ideologies with classic Hollywood monsters.

It was a self initiated experiment into how i could work my interest in creature design into my love of Nigerian mask work. This initial project is a starting point for further design collaborations with later work.
